I have talked about 3 main genres in film, romance, mystery, and action. Each one is very popular today in film, and in my personal list of favorite genres. For my film I will be mostly focused on mystery. The mystery surrounding my film is the main characters paranoia. Finding the difference between what is real and what the main character is overthinking makes it a mystery. Personally, if I had to narrow it down action is my favorite genre. Although it is my favorite, it would be a lot of extra work to make it my film. So, I went with the genre of mystery. My film being about mystery is a lot more doable given it’s just me in my group. Along with this, mystery is my second favorite genre.  Usually, a film under the genre of mystery leads to an answer. For my film, the answer will not be given. The “answer” will be up to the viewer to determine whether the main character is simply making all of this up in his head. I think doing this will give my film even more of a mystery aspect to

Romance, a genre that attracts all. Movies since the beginning of film making, have focused on this core concept. In real life, romance involves every single person that has and will exist. This fact alone makes it an attraction in film. Romance brings the highest of highs and lowest of lows, this is the same in film.  Given the emotions people feel from real life romance and relationships, film has a way of exploiting this. Many of the most watched films have been under the genre of romance. Films will use people’s feelings in their real life relationships and broadcast them in a fictional film, captivating the watchers attention. An example of this is heartbreak. Almost everyone has experienced a heartbreak of some sort in their lifetime, this creates a connection between person and film. Another way film exploits people’s emotions in terms of romance is cheating. Often in romance movies, the main character is involved in cheating. Not only does this create a love triangle which vi

I have spoken about genres and how they are all different. In my last blog I spoke about the genre of Mystery. Mystery is quite captivating, but what may be more captivating is action. Along with mystery movies and series, action is the most watched and entertained genre. 90% of the top movies are action.  You may ask yourself, why is action so loved? The answer is that people live vicariously through movies. People watch action movies because they get pleasure out of seeing people do what they’d like to be doing. People also like to see things that they can’t safely do in real life. This often takes form in them watching movies that often results in a lot of death. A good example of this is Rambo. Rambo is a story based on an ex-military lone wolf trying to assimilate himself back into America. At this point, America doesn’t value the military post Vietnam. Rambo goes rogue in a small town after facing discrimination , resulting in a lot of violence and death. People that like Rambo

There are many types of movie genres. From action to romance, for this blog I will be talking about mystery. Personally, the genre of mystery is the most interesting. With a movie based on mystery comes a whole plot based around a singular question and answer. Usually, every scene in a movie based on mystery can be a major role in the plot.  An example of a movie based on mystery is The Knowing, starring Nicholas Cage. I find this movie in particular interesting because every detail lead to the conclusion. The movie is based around this series of numbers put into a time capsule where it was later dug up. The student who dug it up had a father who was a professor, the father soon realized the numbers were dates and coordinates of major world events. I won’t spoil the rest, but the details between the events in the summary I just gave you all lead to the conclusion. Mystery is one of those genres a movie can bank on to become a box office hit. The suspense that is created when a viewer

For my video I am working by myself. Given that I have no group I have complete control over what I am filming and when. I find this to be a major advantage, this is due to my past experiences with group videos. My last assignment I worked with a group, having to work around everyone's schedule threw everything off track. Being so close to the deadline caused us to rush the final product, therefore doing things incorrectly. You may ask, how will you working alone avoid the issues you faced with your last assignment? First, now I don't have to wait on anyone else for their schedule or their video. Second, I know how I work best, this means that working independently is the most optimal for the final product. I will specifically benefit due to the type of scenes I am doing. For example, the scenes will all take place in locations that I am familiar with and am able to get to.  My initial ideas for my scenes include an overall skit of me playing someone that is paranoid, going th

I am working with a group of friends, Lance and Kevin. I am working with Lance because he is a friend of mine from culinary. Since having culinary with him last year, we became really close, at some points we have even hung out after school. Lance and I have bonded over many things, but one of the main bonds we hold is over working out . He has been working out for around 2 years consistently, and 6 months working out with weights. For our music video we are thinking about incorporating our love for working out. Us bonding over working out makes Kevin the perfect third person for our group. Kevin works out quite a lot, he has been working out for about a year and a half. Having the 3 of us being avid weight lifters will massively benefit our video. What will really make the video really interesting is incorporating our different ways of working out. Many people that don't often lift weights don't know the different ways to weight lifting, this can come in the form of higher v

Hello, my name is Julian. I am in AICE Media Studies and I go to Fort Lauderdale High School. I am recently unemployed, I worked at Kilwins, the ice cream shop. My last day was actually yesterday, it felt satisfying not having a job after 7 months of being employed. My job before Kilwins was at The Pelican, a resort on the beach. The reason I left was because it started to get into end of the year test time at school, and I chose to focus more on school than work. This decision came after 8 months of working there after school and on the weekends. The reason I worked there for as long as I did is because I had the overall goal of buying a car. Unfortunately the plan for the car was delayed past my date of leaving. Given that the car I was planning on buying didn't work out, my bank account slowly dwindled down. This time around, although no specific car is set, I am planning a better way to manage my money. Aside from work, I am quite active. As of recently I officially joined a
